Conceived by a consortium led by Alberta Innovates, the Alberta Scaleup and Growth Accelerator Program represents a coalition of stakeholders including Prairies Economic Development Canada, Edmonton Unlimited, and the City of Calgary’s Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF).
As the Scaleup program reaches its two-year milestone, a retrospection unveils impactful contribution to the region’s entrepreneurial landscape.
The program has delivered accelerator services to budding entrepreneurs and innovators across169 Alberta-based companies. These companies have raised investments worth $147 million and created 118 new jobs.
The program also attracted more than 100 non-Alberta companies to the province, with six of those companies registering their businesses in Alberta upon completing an accelerator program.
Five accelerators were brought to Alberta to bridge the scaleup gap, including Alberta Catalyzer, an early-stage pre-accelerator.
The Alberta Catalyzer program is divided into three streams of learning: Engage, Traction, and Velocity. The streams are intentionally designed to support founders at different stages and equip them with resources to help their startup grow.
Alberta Catalyzer is currently accepting applications for the last Velocity cohort of the year. Velocity is a FREE 8 week program designed to help tech-enabled companies establish their go-to-market strategy, polish their pitch, learn investment readiness basics, and qualify for scaleup accelerators.
If you’re an entrepreneur with a company that is preparing to scale and ready to generate exponential growth in operations, apply by September 5th to participate in the Velocity program.
