Platform Calgary is hosting a Sneak Peek of Innovation Week on November 14th at the Platform Innovation Centre with the Honourable Nate Glubish, Alberta’s Minister of Technology & Innovation.
Innovation Week, presented by the University of Calgary, brings together thousands of people from across the city to learn, connect and celebrate tech and innovation.
Calgary will be home to a full roster of tech events from November 15th to 23rd that will showcase and celebrate the people and ideas that are establishing Calgary as the best place in the world for anyone to start and grow a tech business.
“Calgary is quickly evolving into a tech hub that is recognized on the international stage,” says Terry Rock, President and CEO of Platform Calgary.
“Now is the time to bet on Calgary. Together with our network of partners, we are supporting the entrepreneurs today to build the companies of tomorrow.”
The Sneak Peek event will feature a fireside chat with Minister Glubish and two Calgary technology leaders — Dr. Breanne Everett of Orpyx and Jeff Adamson of Neo Financial — to discuss the growth of Calgary’s tech sector in recent years and how we can continue supporting entrepreneurs and companies to create new jobs and grow the economy.
Innovation Week Sneak Peek runs from 3pm to 4pm on November 14th at the Platform Innovation Centre. Register online to attend.
Following the formal program, there will be light refreshments, snacks and networking leading up to the Alberta Catalyzer Southern Alberta Showcase, which starts at 4:30pm.
The showcase is the culmination of an eight-week program where entrepreneurs worked with industry experts and coaches to take their business to the next level in establishing a strong go-to-market strategy, polishing their pitches, and working towards qualifying for scale-up accelerators.
