
Douglas Holt has announced the launch of Beltline Capital Partners (BCP), a new lending firm focused on providing flexible, non-dilutive financing to small and mid-sized businesses across North America.
Holt brings more than six years of experience from Alberta Innovates, where he most recently served as Associate Vice President of Capital Development. At Alberta Innovates Holt led a team of 35 people funding hundreds of startups, building on an already a strong foundation in the high-yield debt market.
His return to the private sector marks a significant move aimed at addressing the capital challenges faced by entrepreneurs and growing companies.
“Small and mid-sized businesses are the backbone of the economy,” said Holt on LinkedIn. “They deserve capital partners who truly understand their needs.”
Beltline Capital offers a suite of lending solutions, including venture and mezzanine debt, asset-backed lending, and government-backed bridge financing such as SR&ED tax credit advances. The firm emphasizes speed, structure, and a founder-first mindset.
“Our team understands the pace and pressure of building a business,” Holt added. “We’re not just lenders—we’re partners.”
Beltline Capital is actively expanding its presence across Canada and the U.S., with more product launches expected in the months ahead.
