Two Calgary Companies Named to 2023 Global Cleantech 100

Canadian cleantech companies are making their mark on the world stage with 12 companies being named to the prestigious 2023 Global Cleantech 100 list, the 14th edition.

This year the list of innovative and promising clean technology companies represents strong diversification of markets and sectors with representation from across Canada.

While the West Coast stood out with six B.C. companies getting the nod, Alberta was also represented on the Top 100 list with two Calgary-based cleantech leaders acknowledged.

Carbon Upcycling Technologies is a waste and carbon utilization firm unlocking a new frontier of circular materials. The Calgary-headquartered company has developed technology for sequestering CO2 gas into a solid form within concretes, plastics and coatings.

They were recently named to the Foresight 50, a list that recognizes ventures from across Canada and a variety of sectors including watertech, carbon solutions, hydrogen, and renewable energy.

Eavor (pronounced “Ever”) is a geothermal technology based energy company led by a team dedicated to creating a clean, reliable and affordable energy future on a global scale.

Last year Eavor secured a strategic investment from Chubu Electric Power for the global commercialization of Eavor-Loop™ technology.

The Global Cleantech 100 list combines Cleantech Group’s research data with qualitative judgements from nominations and insight from a global, 85-member Expert Panel of leading investors and executives from corporations and industrials active in technology and innovation scouting.

From pioneers and veterans to new entrants, the Expert Panel broadly represents the global cleantech community and results in a list with a powerful base of respect and support from many important players within the cleantech innovation ecosystem.
