Foresight Canada has announced the winners of the second annual Alberta Cleantech Awards, recognizing outstanding achievement in the field of cleantech.
Alberta is becoming a world leader in the development of cleantech solutions, spanning renewable energy, agritech, and carbon capture and storage, Foresight believes.
With categories for innovative ventures, forward-thinking funders, and community supporters, the awards shine a spotlight on those making significant contributions to the growth and adoption of cleantech across the province.
“Alberta is home to some of Canada’s most talented and passionate cleantech innovators, ecosystem supporters, and champions. Their work is abating emissions in some of our most critical economic sectors, and getting Canada one step closer to achieving our net zero ambitions,” commented Jeanette Jackson, CEO, Foresight Canada.
“We are thrilled to shine the spotlight on a few of them in the second annual Alberta Cleantech Awards.”
Calgary’s Litus received the Venture of the Year honors, an award presented to the cleantech venture best positioned to take a leadership role on the global innovation stage.
Born in 2019, Litus has developed nanotechnology that harvests lithium directly from aqueous sources with minimal disruption to the environment.
Litus were named to Foresight’s annual list of Canada’s 50 most investible cleantech ventures last year.
The other winners of the 2024 Alberta Cleantech Awards were:
- Funder of the Year: Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan)
