ResVR, The Reporting Hub, and Moovez Win Big at Launch Party

November 21, 2024 by Robert Lewis Leave a Comment

Innovation Week YYC concluded with a bang on Thursday night as Platform Calgary hosted its highly anticipated Launch Party at the Big Four Roadhouse. Presented by Boast, the event celebrated the achievements of Calgary’s burgeoning tech ecosystem, showcasing 10 of the most promising startups from the past year.

“This year’s featured startups are shining examples of the passion and enthusiasm of Calgary entrepreneurs,” said Platform Calgary President and CEO Terry Rock. “Platform Calgary looks forward to continuing our support for these amazing companies at every stage of their journey.”

The night featured three prestigious awards recognizing outstanding innovation:

People’s Choice Award: ResVR, a platform that enables builders and developers to create detailed 3D visualizations of home designs, allowing prospective buyers to explore and customize their future homes virtually. This accolade will be decided live by attendees during the event, giving the audience a chance to spotlight their favorite startup.

Alex Raczenko Pitch Award: The Reporting Hub, a no-code platform enabling businesses to securely share Power BI content with unlimited users, received this honor. Named in memory of a revered Calgary entrepreneur and pitch coach, the award was selected by a judging panel including Alberta’s Minister of Technology & Innovation Nate Glubish, Alberta Innovates, and others.

Alumni’s Choice Award: Moovez, a platform simplifying moving and delivery by connecting users with a network of local movers, was chosen by past Launch Party alumni and an investor for its innovation and rapid growth.

Each award recipient will receive a $3,000 cash prize from Boast, supporting their continued growth and innovation.

“On behalf of the team at Boast, I’d like to congratulate the Top 10 and all the award winners from Launch Party,” said Imad Jebara, CEO of Boast. “We’re proud to support Calgary’s tech pioneers as they unlock their potential and build world-class businesses.”

Launch Party serves as a testament to Calgary’s rising reputation as a hub for technology and innovation. With initiatives like this, the city is fostering an environment where entrepreneurs can thrive, building a foundation for future economic growth.
