Calgary’s Knead Technologies has been selected as a finalist in the AgTech & Food category at the prestigious 17th annual SXSW Pitch competition, set to take place March 8–10, 2025, in Austin, Texas.
The SXSW Pitch is a global platform for startups to showcase groundbreaking innovations to industry leaders, media, and top investors. Since its inception in 2009, the competition has helped finalists raise over $23.2 billion in funding.
Founded in 2022, Knead Technologies is revolutionizing food waste reduction through its innovative software platform that streamlines the redirection of surplus food. Their technology automates food rescue operations, enabling more efficient redistribution and significantly cutting down waste.
Earlier this year, Knead Tech secured over $96,000 from the Canadian Food Innovation Network’s Innovation Booster Program, aimed at refining its platform and scaling its operations for broader commercial impact. The company also participated in the THRIVE II Canada Accelerator in 2023, further solidifying its role in advancing sustainable food solutions.
Knead Tech’s recognition at SXSW underscores its potential to drive meaningful change in the AgTech sector and contribute to global sustainability efforts.
