Last week Calgary’s Shaw Communications and Rogers Communications celebrated their recently completed merger with a free concert to kick off the summer.
Headlined by Grammy Award-winning country superstar Darius Rucker and held at the Scotiabank Saddledome, the event marked both a customer appreciation event and a charity fundraiser to benefit the local Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization.
The concert was hosted by Canada’s Got Talent host Lindsay Ell and included talented sibling duo The Reklaws and rising country artist Kyle McKearney.
Rogers and Shaw customers had the exclusive opportunity to attend the concert with free tickets will be made available on a “first come, first serve” basis with invitations sent via email. Fans and non-Rogers customers could also participate in ticket giveaways through Rogers’ radio and TV stations, retail stores, or by engaging with Rogers Moments.
The event reached its goal of raising $100,000 for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization thanks to a $30,000 top up donation by Rogers on top of the $10 donation for every ticket scanned at the event.
