Virtuo’s next-generation home management platform is designed to help builders, agents, and lenders deliver exceptional client experiences to homeowners in Canada.
This week the Calgary-based company announced the beta release of its latest offering in the field, HomieAI.
Virtuo’s HomieAI is the first generative artificial intelligence app trained specifically on individual homes, according to the Canadian upstart.
Built on “a technology infrastructure custom-designed for the home industry,” HomieAI lets homeowners securely chat with their home: ask questions, look up details, and find solutions.
HomieAI is trained on large volumes of specific data—from floor plans and electrical layouts to finish details, appliance specifications, and even zoning restrictions and warranty information.
This deep knowledge base allows HomieAI to give contextual, accurate answers that AI rivals like ChatGPT cannot, suggests Casey Kachur, chief executive of Virtuo.
“A challenge has always been the massive amount of data, documents, and disorder within the home industry,” says Kachur. “HomieAI was designed to help harmonize this fragmentation and, most importantly, create an amazing experience for homeowners.”
HomieAI can handle requests like “My paint is peeling. Is that covered under warranty and if not what is the swatch color?” or “What lightbulb goes into my hood fan?” or “Considering my location, what’s the best thing I can do this winter to protect my house’s exterior?”
Virtuo says the app is “power AI supported by a real human” and supports more than 80 languages.
Since launching, the company has helped over 30,000 people across North America move into homes.
“We’ve been helping homeowners find great answers to tough questions for years,” says Kachur.
Last year, the company secured $3.5 million in seed funding to expand across Canada and into the US.
Virtuo has raised over $7 million in total.
The company was founded in Alberta in 2017.
