Promise Robotics is set to expand its operations with a new 60,000-square-foot warehouse in Calgary, where it will deploy its advanced robotic production lines to accelerate home construction.
Slated to begin operations in summer 2025, the facility will have the capacity to produce up to 1,000,000 square feet of housing annually—a significant step toward addressing the housing shortages in Canada and the U.S.
Promise Robotics specializes in transforming off-the-shelf industrial robots into autonomous production systems tailored for homebuilding. The company’s Factory-as-a-Service (FaaS) platform allows builders to boost production capacity while reducing resource consumption. By integrating AI-powered robotics, Promise Robotics is modernizing an industry that has seen little disruptive innovation in decades.

The new Calgary facility builds on the success of the company’s Edmonton-based FaaS operation and aims to create more opportunities for homebuilders to construct housing more efficiently. Locally sourced materials, supply chains, and labor will ensure economic benefits remain within the communities where homes are built, addressing both the housing crisis and skilled labor shortages.
Promise Robotics’ modular production systems can be rapidly deployed in existing warehouses or temporary offsite structures, providing a one-stop automation solution from blueprint to assembly. This approach allows homebuilders to focus on construction and business growth without the burden of managing automation complexities.
“This new factory marks a major technological and business milestone, strengthening our ability to support our expanding network of homebuilding partners across Canada and the U.S.,” said Ramtin Attar, CEO and co-founder of Promise Robotics.
“The high cost and complexity of automation have long kept homebuilders from investing in factories, but Promise Robotics changes that. Our solution removes capital and expertise barriers, enabling builders to adopt automation and scale production confidently.”
With its expansion into Calgary, Promise Robotics is positioning Canada’s homebuilding industry as a leader in automation, creating new opportunities for job growth, workforce upskilling, and addressing the global housing shortage.
