Alberta Innovates to Highlight Opportunities Across Sectors, Region at Sold-Out Summit

April 2, 2024 by Knowlton Thomas Leave a Comment

One of the province’s largest economic engines recently revealed that it is sponsoring the upcoming Xperience 2024 Leaders’ Summit and Conference.

Alberta Innovates is officially a gold sponsor for the Economic Developers of Alberta event, which is slated to run in Kananaskis from April 10th through 12th.

Over three days of excitement, the sold-out Xperience will host over 400 local, national, and international economic development experts and community leaders, according to event organizers, who will join discussion on Alberta’s current and future economy while networking and exploring various sector opportunities and trends.

Alberta Innovates, whose mark on tech and innovation in the region is undeniable, is aiming for a strong presence at Xperience.

“Five representatives of Alberta Innovates will be speaking on various panels and sessions during the conference highlighting our work to promote the growth of businesses and opportunities within Alberta,” the organization stated.

For example: On April 10 at 2:30pm, Alberta Innovates Vice President of Health Tim Murphy and Associate Vice President of Investments Doug Holt will be featured on separate panels highlighting economic opportunities in biotech and digital transformations.

Representatives of InnoTech Alberta will also be attending the conference to highlight partnership opportunities available for industry.

InnoTech is Alberta’s leading research and technology organization providing innovative solutions to global challenges facing industry and the public sector.

Working with innovators in all sectors of the economy to drive entrepreneurship, Alberta Innovates manages more than 1,300 projects in a portfolio valued at $1.3 billion.

And after Xperience comes INVENTURE$, which each May brings together industry leaders, angel investors, and venture capitalists under one roof in Calgary.

This year, Alberta Innovates forecasts 4,000 attendees from more than 30 countries will attend INVENTURE$.

In addition to a hotly anticipated fireside chat involving a robot, there are more than 150 sessions and panels in total, including the keynote “Igniting Innovation: Creative Thinking in the Age of AI” presented by David Usher, Moist frontman and founder of Reimagine AI, as well as Dr. Poppy Crum, an eminent neuroscientist who will be taking the main stage on Friday, May 31 to deliver a keynote address called “The Intersection of Humanity and Technology.”
