Amazon Web Services (AWS) is continuing its commitment to making Calgary a better place to live by investing another $175,000 CAD through its 2024 AWS InCommunities Calgary Fund.
This initiative provides micro-grants ranging from $500 to $10,000 to individuals, local community groups, schools, non-profits, and other organizations in the Calgary area. The goal is to help launch or expand grassroots projects that have a lasting, positive impact on the community.
Since its launch in 2023, the Fund has already supported 25 community groups and organizations, benefiting 15,000 Calgarians and residents from nearby communities.
The Fund focuses on several key areas, including STEM/STEAM education for all, environmental stewardship and sustainability, inclusion, diversity, and equity with a special emphasis on truth and reconciliation, homelessness and food insecurity, and health and well-being.
