Calgary-based agtech startup Brilliant Harvest has emerged from stealth mode, signing its first major client, Rocky Mountain Equipment (RME), Canada’s largest agricultural equipment dealer.
RME will integrate Brilliant Harvest’s AI-powered platform across its 43 stores, providing a dealer-branded mobile app to streamline the customer experience from purchase to repair.
Founded by agtech veteran Remi Schmaltz, Brilliant Harvest aims to address talent shortages in the industry by enhancing dealer teams’ efficiency. “At peak times like spring planting, there’s not enough quality support for farmers. Our platform helps dealers provide superior, scalable customer experiences by capturing and sharing expertise,” Schmaltz told AgFunderNews.
The platform, powered by $1.3 million in pre-seed funding from Builders VC and AltaML Venture Studio, uses AI to analyze manuals and past interactions. Farmers can access instant answers to equipment queries, reducing wait times and reliance on busy support staff. The app also facilitates internal communication among dealer teams, helping share knowledge across locations.
Schmaltz emphasized that the platform complements human staff rather than replacing them. “It enables employees to do more in a less stressful environment while customers get what they need faster.”
With a growing number of Millennial and Gen X farmers preferring digital solutions, Brilliant Harvest’s platform meets modern expectations for convenience and self-service. The startup is now in talks with other dealers, offering a scalable solution that supports multiple equipment brands and integrates seamlessly with existing systems.
