NiaHealth Raises $5.75 Million to Expand Longevity Platform

June 26, 2025 by Robert Lewis Leave a Comment

Edmonton-based NiaHealth has raised $5.75 million in seed funding to accelerate the growth of its Longevity-as-a-Service platform.

The round was led by Golden Ventures, with participation from prominent investors including Kyle Braatz (Fullscript), Satish Kanwar and Arati Sharma (Good Future), Jonathan Ehrlich (Roar Ventures), Zach Coelius, The51, Jason Smith (Klue), Kathy Butler (CIBC), and returning backers Boris Wertz (Version One Ventures) and Ivan Yuen (Wattpad).

Combined with a $2.5 million pre-seed round in 2024, NiaHealth’s total funding now exceeds $8.25 million.

Since emerging from stealth earlier this year, the startup has attracted over 12,000 Canadians to its waitlist, conducted more than 100,000 biomarker tests, and grown its user base by 30% month-over-month—driven largely by word of mouth. Strategic partnerships with the University of Alberta and health-focused companies like Ada are helping to expand both NiaHealth’s research capacity and employer benefits offering.

The funding comes at a pivotal moment for Canada’s healthcare system. Life expectancy has stalled, chronic illness is rising, and nearly 6.5 million Canadians are without access to a primary care provider. At the same time, personal health data from wearables is more abundant than ever—yet better outcomes remain elusive. NiaHealth aims to close this gap with clinical-grade healthspan testing, actionable insights, and direct support from licensed clinicians—helping Canadians take control of their health before symptoms appear.

Golden Ventures partner Matt Golden was first a user before becoming a lead investor.

“I considered myself healthy, but NiaHealth uncovered hidden risks. With their clinical guidance, I made lifestyle changes that cut my diabetes risk in half,” Golden said. “It was the human touch—not just the data—that made it stick. That’s when I knew this wasn’t just a startup. It’s a health movement Canadians need.”

“We’re building the most advanced, accessible, and evidence-based longevity platform in Canada,” said Sameer Dhar, Co-Founder and CEO of NiaHealth. “People plan their careers and finances, but when it comes to long-term health, we’re flying blind. We want to change that.”

A New Era of Proactive, Data-Driven Care

More than 90% of NiaHealth members uncover a previously unknown risk or condition—and more importantly, take action. With the upcoming launch of Platform 2.0, NiaHealth will integrate an even broader set of diagnostics and data to deliver richer insights and real-time guidance:

    • Integration with wearables like Oura, Garmin, Apple Watch, and Fitbit to link daily behaviour with biomarkers.
    • Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) to reveal how food affects health in real time.
    • Expansion from 50 to 100+ biomarkers, unlocking deeper personalized health insights.
    • New test categories—including Toxic Heavy Metals, Omega-3s, and Advanced Thyroid screening—rolling out this summer.

NiaHealth’s vision is to move Canada from reactive check-ups to continuous, proactive care—helping people live longer, healthier lives with greater control and confidence.
