Calgary’s next generation of tech professionals will take centre stage on Thursday, August 21st, as the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) hosts its Summer 2025 capstone showcase, SAIT TECH CAPCON.
Running from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the SAIT Campus Centre (Stan Grad Building), the in-person event will highlight more than 100 student-led projects spanning software development, cybersecurity, interactive design, data analytics, business intelligence, and more.
Open to the public and designed as a drop-in, trade show–style experience, SAIT TECH CAPCON offers local employers, innovators, and tech enthusiasts the opportunity to connect directly with students preparing to complete their programs at the end of August.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for local employers to connect with emerging talent and see the innovative solutions our students are building for real business challenges,” said a SAIT representative. “It’s also a chance to explore future collaborations or capstone project partnerships.”
Capstone projects featured in the showcase will come from several SAIT programs, including:
- Software Development
- Information Technology Services
- Information Systems Security
- Interactive Design Diploma
- Data Analytics
- Business Intelligence
- Film and Video Production
- Interdisciplinary Programs Capstone
Employers seeking to hire, build internship pipelines, or explore academic-industry collaborations are especially encouraged to attend. SAIT’s capstone program gives students hands-on experience working with industry partners to solve real-world problems—making this event a prime opportunity to scout new talent and explore fresh ideas.
By attending, community members help support Calgary’s tech talent pipeline and contribute to the city’s innovation-driven economy.
