Calgary’s Bidaya AI Raises $840K to Automate AEC Proposals

October 21, 2025 by Newsdesk Leave a Comment

Calgary-based Bidaya AI has raised $840,000 in pre-seed funding led by Metiquity Ventures, with participation from LOI Venture and several angel investors. The round, which closed in spring 2025, will help the company accelerate product development and expand into new markets.

Founded in 2024 by Omar Sabbagh and Majd Alsado, Bidaya AI is developing an artificial intelligence platform that helps architecture, engineering, and consulting (AEC) firms discover, bid on, and win new business more efficiently.

The startup is tackling one of the AEC industry’s biggest pain points—the fragmented process of finding and responding to requests for proposals (RFPs). Its vertical AI platform unifies project discovery, automated proposal drafting, and structured knowledge management into a single workflow embedded directly in Microsoft Word, the core authoring tool used by AEC professionals. The result is faster, more accurate, and more collaborative proposal development with stronger compliance and institutional knowledge reuse.

“We are delighted to welcome Metiquity Ventures as our lead investor,” said Omar Sabbagh, Co-Founder and CEO of Bidaya AI. “Since day one, the Metiquity team has demonstrated a deep understanding of our mission to modernize the AEC industry’s business development processes through AI. Their strategic guidance and operational experience will be invaluable as we scale our product and expand into new markets.”

“Bidaya AI is solving a high-impact problem for an industry ready for digital transformation,” added Bryan Slauko, Partner at Metiquity Ventures. “Its platform is purpose-built for AEC workflows, delivering measurable gains in proposal speed, compliance, and knowledge management. We believe Bidaya can become a category-defining company in the proposal automation market.”

Metiquity Ventures’ investment aligns with its broader strategy of backing bold founders building vertical AI and B2B SaaS platforms that address operational inefficiencies in large, underserved industries. The new funding will support Bidaya AI’s product roadmap and customer success initiatives as it expands across Canada and into the United States.
