Indian multinational IT consultancy HCLTech has officially opened a new office in downtown Calgary, marking a significant expansion of its Western Canadian presence and strengthening its commitment to Alberta’s growing technology sector.
The launch follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Invest Alberta aimed at accelerating technology collaboration, co-innovation, and job creation across the province.
Located at The Ampersand, the new space is designed as a collaboration-forward hub that will operate as both a client co-innovation centre and delivery facility. HCLTech says the environment is built to foster creativity and support the development of transformative digital solutions across industries.
The company already operates innovation and delivery centres in Mississauga, Moncton, and Vancouver, supporting more than 50 major Canadian enterprises. The Calgary expansion signals a long-term strategy to create local jobs and deepen partnerships with organizations across Alberta’s tech ecosystem.
HCLTech is inaugurating the office at its Annual Year-End Reception in Calgary, joined by clients, partners, and industry leaders.
“This is the fifth Indian IT company that IAC has helped land in Calgary,” said Rick Christiaanse, CEO of Invest Alberta. “It demonstrates Alberta’s growing appeal in the global tech sector. We celebrate this achievement, the result of collaboration and true teamwork.”
Dave Chopra, Executive Vice President and Canada Country Head at HCLTech, said the move positions the company to play a larger role in Western Canada’s digital transformation. “As we deepen our collaboration with Invest Alberta and accelerate our focus on AI, cybersecurity and data, we see tremendous opportunity to co-innovate with the region’s growing technology community,” he said.
