The Aerospace Innovation Hub is now fully operational at the Calgary International Airport, marking a key milestone for Calgary’s aerospace and advanced technology ecosystem.
Launched by Innovate Calgary in partnership with the University of Calgary, the hub is designed to help researchers, startups, and industry partners move aerospace innovations from lab to market. A grand opening event will take place on January 13, bringing together leaders from across the aerospace ecosystem.
Located at the Calgary International Airport, the hub offers a collaborative space with access to business advisory support, corporate partners including WestJet, investor pitch opportunities, and millions of dollars in prototyping equipment and labs.
“With the Aerospace Innovation Hub now fully operational at the airport, we have a home that matches the ambition of Alberta’s aerospace industry,” said Nima Najand of Innovate Calgary.
The hub was enabled by an investment of $3.9 million over four years by the Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund and strengthens Calgary’s position as a growing centre for aerospace innovation in Western Canada.
