IMDEX Acquires Calgary-Born Krux Analytics in $22M Deal

April 8, 2026 by Newsdesk Leave a Comment

Australian mining technology firm IMDEX has completed its full acquisition of Krux Analytics, bringing the Calgary-founded drilling analytics company fully into its global platform.

The deal sees IMDEX acquire the remaining 60% stake in Krux for approximately $22 million, following an initial 40% investment made in 2023.

Founded in Canada, Krux has built a cloud-based platform that captures and analyzes real-time drilling data, helping mining companies optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve decision-making at the drill site.

The acquisition marks a significant milestone for the Calgary-born company, which has spent the past several years working closely with IMDEX as part of a strategic partnership that began with the initial minority investment.

“We’ve been privileged to work with the talented Krux team over the past three years,” said IMDEX CEO Paul House, noting that the integration will deliver “greater efficiency, cost control and a seamless digital experience” for customers.

With full ownership, IMDEX plans to fully integrate Krux’s analytics platform into its Drill Site Technologies business, strengthening its ability to provide end-to-end digital solutions across the mining lifecycle. The move is expected to enhance real-time data visibility and enable faster, more informed decisions for drilling operations globally.

Krux’s platform has become a key piece of infrastructure in modern mining operations, processing real-time rig data to improve utilization, reduce downtime, and optimize drilling outcomes.

For IMDEX, the acquisition reflects a broader strategy to deepen its digital capabilities and consolidate its position in a mining sector increasingly defined by data-driven operations and integrated software platforms.

The company will begin fully consolidating Krux’s financial results as of April 1, 2026, as integration efforts accelerate.

For Calgary’s tech ecosystem, the exit highlights the city’s growing role in building globally relevant industrial and energy technologies. As mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors continue to digitize, companies like Krux are emerging as critical players in the software layer underpinning those industries.
