Calgary energy software company Stack Technologies is heading south after establishing a substantial footprint in Canada’s oil and gas sector.
The company announced that producers responsible for approximately 70% of Canada’s oil and gas production now use at least one product from its StackDX software platform.
Stack also revealed that it has signed its first customers in the United States, marking the next phase of its growth strategy.
Originally developed as a secure data and document management platform for the energy sector, StackDX has evolved into a broader software ecosystem for upstream and midstream companies.
Its products help energy teams organize documents and operational data, map land and infrastructure, monitor industry activity, automate internal processes, and collaborate across land, accounting, business development, technical, and operations departments.

The platform includes its core StackDX data and document management product alongside StackDX Maps, StackDX Intel, Roads and Thirds, and other workflow automation tools.
“Reaching organizations that account for roughly 70% of Canadian production is an incredible milestone for our team,” said Stack Managing Director Kyla Lawson.
The milestone represents significant growth for the Calgary company. Less than a year ago, StackDX reported that its platform was used by producers representing more than 40% of Canadian oil and gas production and had reached 50 enterprise customers.
Stack is now taking the industry-specific technology developed in Canada into one of the world’s largest energy markets.
Lawson said the challenges StackDX addresses—including disconnected information, manual workflows, and poor collaboration between teams—extend well beyond Canada.
“We’re excited for our U.S. expansion,” she said, pointing to a broader opportunity to apply the company’s technology and experience in the American market.
Stack plans to continue investing in software, workflow automation, mapping technology, and data products to support customers on both sides of the border.
The company is also increasing its focus on artificial intelligence. Stack believes AI will play a growing role in how energy companies organize information, automate processes, and make decisions, and plans to use the technology to enhance its core services while accelerating new product development.
Combining software engineers with professionals who understand the oil and gas industry has been central to StackDX’s expansion. The company says that blend allows it to build tools around the workflows and information challenges energy businesses encounter every day.
With most of Canadian production now represented within its customer base and its first U.S. clients on board, StackDX is positioning Calgary-built energy software for a much larger North American opportunity.
