Calgary’s fintech community has got a new forum for professional development, education, and connection as PayTech Women prepares to launch its local chapter this month.
The inaugural PayTech Women Calgary event will take place on August 27 at Helcim’s downtown headquarters, bringing together professionals from payments, banking, fintech, software, and other technology-driven industries.
The evening will centre on a panel discussion titled “AI, Leadership & the Future of Work.”
As artificial intelligence reshapes how organizations operate and people build their careers, the conversation will examine how AI is changing work and leadership, which human skills will become more valuable, and how professionals can adapt as the technology evolves.
The panel will feature Gregg Aamoth, founder and chief executive officer of Calgary fintech company POPcodes; Janka Coppens, assistant vice-president of AI and advanced analytics at ATB Financial; Zoe Lavena, software engineering manager at Helcim; and Lovelin Johnson, a leadership coach and former vice-president at JPMorganChase. Bolu Oyebamiji will moderate the conversation.
Founded in 2005, PayTech Women is a nonprofit professional organization focused on helping women strengthen their careers, leadership, and influence within the payments and fintech industry. Its regional chapters provide local networking, education, and professional-development opportunities.
