Calgary’s Fledge is building tools to help parents and educators make emotional learning part of children’s everyday lives.
Led by founder and CEO Jenna Galloway, the company combines a digital platform with practical activities, educator training and in-person school programming. Its focus is helping adults teach skills such as emotional awareness, focus and resilience.
Fledge grew out of work at Wymbin, a Calgary education and wellbeing initiative. Rather than expanding solely through physical locations, the team developed resources that families and educators could use in their own homes and classrooms.
The platform includes printable activities, conversation guides, worksheets, videos and short courses. Screen-optional exercises give adults ways to bring the material into interactions with children.
A shared digital garden connects that practice: completing activities helps a family or classroom grow a virtual world together. Fledge describes the feature as a way to recognize repeated participation without scores or comparisons.
The company says its work has supported more than 2,000 children and reached over 30 schools and organizations. Its broader offering includes school residencies and professional development designed to help educators continue the practices themselves.
Fledge’s approach puts the adults around a child at the centre of delivery, connecting what happens at school with what families can reinforce at home.
Fledge is among Platform Calgary’s 2026 Launch Party Top 10. Launch Party, presented by Float, takes place November 5 at the Platform Innovation Centre.
