Calgary’s Paradigm Inputs is combining agricultural distribution with software to help independent brokers supply crop inputs to Canadian farmers.
The company’s model focuses on generic crop inputs and a simpler path between manufacturers and farms. Local brokers consolidate growers’ orders, help meet shipping-volume requirements and coordinate delivery, while a digital platform supports the business behind those transactions.
Co-founders Mitch Johnstone, CEO, and Marc-Andre Fortin, Chief Commercial Officer, bring finance, technology and agricultural distribution experience to the company.
Paradigm’s broker tools cover invoicing, payments, accounts receivable and inventory, alongside dashboards for sales, margins and customer information. Its AgAssist feature provides agricultural product information and access to a label library.
The company positions brokers as independent business owners who maintain local customer relationships and control their pricing. Software and operational support are intended to help those businesses run without recreating a full distribution system themselves.
For farmers, Paradigm’s stated objective is improved profitability through lower input costs. Its model seeks to reduce distribution overhead by consolidating orders and simplifying the movement of products from manufacturers to rural customers.
The business pairs a technology platform with a physical supply chain, linking digital administration to the practical work of ordering, transporting and delivering the products farmers need each season.
Paradigm Inputs is among Platform Calgary’s 2026 Launch Party Top 10. Launch Party, presented by Float, takes place November 5 at the Platform Innovation Centre.
