Helcim to Power Payment Processing for Growing Harvest Platform

July 22, 2026 by Knowlton Thomas Leave a Comment

Late payments can constrain on a small business. Two Canadian financial technology innovators—including one based out of Alberta—are partnering to address this persistent problem.

Toronto’s Harvest, an AI-powered accounts receivable platform for Canadian businesses, is collaborating with Calgary-based payment processor Helcim.

The partnership brings Helcim’s payment processing capabilities into Harvest’s platform, according to a statement from the firms.

The integration will allow Helcim customers to connect accounts to Harvest and automatically add payment options to outstanding invoices.

“Small businesses shouldn’t need to have a large finance team to manage their outstanding invoices,” posits Matt Himel, chief executive officer of Harvest.

Himel founded Harvest last year to help businesses recover cash, improve cash flow, and reduce the time and effort spent on collections—while preserving customer relationships.

“Harvest gives Canadian SMBs access to sophisticated AI technology that follows up on invoices, manages customer communication, and helps businesses get paid faster,” he says. “Most SMBs … fail because they run out of money while waiting to get paid.”

Through integrating Helcim, “we are now making the final step just as seamless,” Himel stated. “Customers can move directly from a personalized invoice reminder to an affordable and convenient way to pay.”

Payments should be “simple, transparent, and affordable for every small business,” says Helcim founder Nic Beique. “That’s the mission we’ve built Helcim on from day one.”

“Through this partnership, we’re bringing our fair pricing and full suite of tools directly to Harvest users, so they can accept payments without hidden fees eating into their bottom line,” he stated.

Earlier this year, Helcim launched the Helcim Payment Extension, a browser-based tool.

By installing an extension, merchants can connect Helcim’s payment interface directly into third-party platforms such as Jobber, Clio, and Jane App, ensuring invoices are marked paid and records remain synchronized without manual reconciliation or custom integrations.

“We believe merchants should be in control of their financial partnerships,” remarked Beique in January. “Business owners shouldn’t be forced to overpay for payments just to use the operational software they love.”
