Calgary-based North Vector Dynamics has closed a Series A just shy of $30 million to expand manufacturing and pursue international markets for its air-defence technology.
The financing values the Canadian-owned and controlled company at more than $125 million. NVD describes it as one of Canada’s largest defence-technology financings.
European defence and security investor Tech Horizons led the round, with participation from ONE9, Garage Capital, CSG, Ripple Ventures, Feld Ventures, Conconi Growth Partners and others.
NVD’s initial commercial product, CM-70, is a low-cost, precision-guided missile interceptor designed to counter fast-moving drones and integrate with existing air-defence systems.
“Allied forces need affordable, producible air defence at scale, and they need it now,” said co-founder and CEO Paul Ziadé.
The funding will support manufacturing and assembly, greater control over production and supply chains, hiring, and new offices in the United States and Europe. Ziadé said the round positions NVD to move from validation toward production at volume.
The raise follows Calgary.tech’s July coverage of a strategic investment from NordSpace Ventures. That partnership gave NVD access to NordSpace’s propulsion, manufacturing and testing infrastructure, supporting overlapping work in defence and hypersonic technologies.
At the time, NVD was also participating in a $4.2-million Defence Research and Development Canada contract to advance high-speed and hypersonic aeropropulsion.
Calgary.tech previously named North Vector Dynamics among its 10 Homegrown Calgary Startups to Watch in 2026, highlighting its work on Canadian-developed systems for emerging aerial threats. The Series A marks a significant step in the company’s efforts to turn that technology into a scalable defence business.
