As part of the inaugural ScaleUP Week 2024, Mount Royal University announced the winners of the first ScaleUP Awards in celebration of outstanding achievements in scaling companies across Western Canada.
Powered by Growth Compass, the awards highlight exceptional companies and entrepreneurs who have demonstrated significant growth and innovation in their fields.
“ScaleUP Week is dedicated to propelling entrepreneurs and leaders towards unparalleled growth and scale. It’s an opportunity to showcase the latest scaling evidence and best practices while celebrating the journey of scaleups across Western Canada,” said Dr. Simon Raby, PhD, director of Growth Compass, which is operated by MRU’s Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The winners of the 2024 ScaleUP Awards were:
- ScaleUP Company of the Year: ZayZoon
- ScaleUP Entrepreneur of the Year: Wilson Acton, Tall Grass Ventures
- International ScaleUP of the Year: CoolIT Systems
- Social Impact ScaleUP of the Year: CarePros
- Sustainable ScaleUP of the Year: Zeno Renewables
- ScaleUP Ecosystem Leadership Award: Goodlawyer
- ScaleUP Sector Award: Kathairos Solutions
- People’s Choice Award: Osten Victor Alberta Tennis Centre
MRU’s Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s mission is to deliver transformative learning experiences that develop the high-impact talent essential to the continued economic prosperity of Alberta.
The Institute established Growth Compass as a Centre of Excellence to deliver evidence-based insights and intelligence on business growth and scaling. It has also launched Growth Catalyst and the Innovation Accelerator to support leaders and teams of SMEs.
