Maple, Helcim Collab to Empower Fast and Flexible Payments for Canadian Businesses

June 16, 2025 by Knowlton Thomas Leave a Comment

Maple Billing this month unveiled a collaboration with Helcim.

Toronto’s Maple is an all-in-one revenue management platform that streamlines sales-led and product-led billing workflows and tracks holistic revenue metrics in real-time via low-code or no-code methods.

The firm promises businesses lower fees, improved international coverage, and support for specialized financial workflows, including the flexibility to integrate seamlessly with the provider they choose, all without taking a percentage of your revenue.

The integration with Calgary-based financial technology firm Helcim allow businesses to accept payments quickly and securely while benefiting from Helcim’s interchange-plus model, according to Maple.

Often, businesses start with Stripe because it’s well-known, developer-friendly, and easy to integrate. But Maple warns that transaction costs can approach 5% when all fees are considered.

Helcim takes a different approach. Rather than charging a flat percentage, Helcim passes through the actual card network fees (such as Visa and Mastercard) then adds a small margin.

Paired with Maple’s flat pricing structure, this gives businesses a cost-efficient payment stack that supports growth without eating into revenue, according to the Canadian companies.

“With Maple, you’re not locked into a one-size-fits-all payment solution,” the company states online. “Whether you’re scaling a SaaS product, handling complex usage billing, or just looking to lower your transaction costs, Maple gives you the tools to do it your way.”

Maple was founded by Aswin Rajendiran, Aravindkumar Rajendiran, and Ruchi Varshney.

Helcim earlier this year rolled out “Faster Deposits,” a feature aimed at accelerating cash flow for small and mid-sized businesses across North America at no extra cost.

Designed to eliminate the traditional multi-day wait time for credit card payments to settle, Faster Deposits leverages real-time payment networks including Interac Instant in Canada and RTP and FedNow in the US to deposit funds into merchant accounts within minutes of transaction batching.

“Waiting days for revenue to settle is an outdated relic,” Helcim CEO Nic Beique stated in April. “We built Faster Deposits because everyday merchants told us how critical faster funding was; this is a major step in our mission to empower small businesses with fair, transparent tools that support growth.”
