
Alberta’s top innovators are once again set to take the spotlight. Nominations and applications are now open for the 8th annual Start Alberta Tech Awards, recognizing the individuals and organizations shaping the province’s tech and innovation ecosystem.
The 2025 Awards will be held on November 13th at the Betty Andrews Recital Hall in Edmonton, celebrating those driving impact, growth, and community leadership in Alberta’s technology sector.
Award categories for 2025 include:
- Deal of the Year
- Most Promising Founder
- Anchor of the Year (New in 2025)
- VCAA Rod Charko Service Award
- A100 One-to-Watch
- Ecosystem Supporter of the Year
- Investor of the Year
- Woman in Tech
- Scaleup of the Year
- Leader of the Year
Nominations close on Monday, September 30th. Start Alberta encourages founders, investors, and community members to put forward the startups and leaders making a difference.

The initiative is supported by Platform Calgary, AEC, and the Venture Capital Association of Alberta (VCAA), alongside other community partners.
