Among the finalists is Calgary-based HazTrack, a company Calgary.tech spotlighted earlier this year on our startups to watch list.
Founded by Tom McDonell, Zach Johnson, and Cauani Castro, HazTrack is modernizing industrial IoT with its flagship product, TheHazTracker.
The system provides real-time monitoring of hazardous and regulated substances—from oilfield chemicals to restaurant cooking oil tanks—helping businesses improve safety while optimizing scheduling and routing.
In 2024, HazTrack won Startup TNT’s Summit X Finale, securing $300,000, before closing a $1.25 million seed round that underscored strong investor confidence in its approach.
