Alberta’s tech sector once again made a strong showing, with a number of companies earning recognition for their sustained momentum and innovation.
PurposeMed (#23, 1,459% growth)
Founded in 2019 by Dr. Husein Moloo, Amaan Banwait, and Pete MacLeod, Calgary-based PurposeMed has quickly emerged as a digital health leader. The company provides virtual healthcare services across Canada, with a focus on underserved communities. Its rapid growth reflects both the shift toward telemedicine and the company’s commitment to accessible, patient-centric care. PurposeMed was tabbed a startup to watch in 2023 by Calgary.tech.
Helcim (#44, 776% growth)
Founded by Nic Beique, Helcim has become one of Calgary’s most prominent fintech success stories.
