Calgary’s love for food trucks, festivals, and outdoor markets has inspired a new homegrown tech solution to one of their biggest headaches — long lines.
No-Q, a mobile-first ordering platform built by Axer Technology, lets event vendors set up an online storefront in minutes and start accepting orders directly from customers’ phones. Instead of waiting in line, attendees simply scan a QR code or click a link to browse menus, place orders, and pay — all without downloading an app.
The result? Faster service, happier guests, and more sales for vendors.
“No-Q was inspired by the Stampede and Calgary’s incredible event culture,” co-founder Olumide Olajide told Calgary.tech. “We wanted to empower local businesses and event organizers with simple, scalable technology that enhances the experience for everyone.”
Founded by a trio of Calgary technologists with more than 25 years of combined experience in product design and software engineering, Axer Technology has built No-Q to serve both sides of the festival economy. Vendors gain a plug-and-play ordering system that reduces congestion and lost sales, while event organizers benefit from improved flow and customer satisfaction.
Looking ahead, the startup is developing an Event Manager Dashboard that will provide organizers with real-time insights into vendor performance, sales data, and customer behaviour. The goal, according to the founders, is to make No-Q the go-to ordering platform for event vendors across Canada — and eventually, North America.
