Calgary-based fashion technology startup Prévoir has raised $750,000 in pre-seed funding to help retailers make smarter merchandising and inventory decisions using computer vision–powered artificial intelligence.
The round was led by AltaML, one of Alberta’s most active applied AI firms, and will support the scaling of Prévoir’s platform, which analyzes fashion products through image-based attribute extraction and links those insights to sales and inventory performance.
Prévoir’s software uses computer vision to extract attributes such as colour, silhouette, and material from product images, then connects that data to commercial outcomes to help merchandisers understand what’s selling, what isn’t, and why—without replacing human creative judgment.
Founder Courtney Kos said the platform was designed to reflect how buying and merchandising teams actually work.
“We raised our pre-seed to test a pretty simple idea: merchandising and buying teams need a more visual, data-native way to plan assortments and make inventory decisions—something that mirrors how teams work day-to-day,” said Kos. “Over the past 10 months, we’ve been shipping alongside early customers and paying close attention to where Prévoir is creating real value. That learning is directly shaping what we’re building next.”
Prévoir currently offers its product as a Shopify app priced at US$250 per month, targeting small and mid-sized fashion retailers seeking deeper insight into product performance without building in-house data teams.
The company plans to use the new capital to scale its infrastructure, expand product capabilities, and strengthen customer support as it prepares for broader adoption.
Beyond funding, AltaML’s involvement brings technical validation. The Edmonton-based firm has built and deployed applied AI systems across industries, and its backing signals confidence in Prévoir’s technical approach and market opportunity.
Looking ahead, the pre-seed round positions Prévoir to scale toward a potential seed raise in late 2026, as the company deepens its analytics capabilities and explores expansion beyond Shopify.
