Calgary’s economic future is increasingly tied to global markets — and on April 8, the city’s business and civic leaders will outline how those connections are shaping the next chapter of growth.
Calgary Economic Development will host Report to the Community 2026 at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators for an afternoon focused on trade, partnerships, and opportunity.
This year’s program will examine the progress Calgary has made, the opportunities ahead, and how global partnerships are expanding what’s possible in the Blue Sky City. As the local economy continues to diversify across sectors including energy transition, fintech, aerospace, agtech, and AI, international trade and investor engagement are becoming central to its strategy.
Featured speakers include Jeromy Farkas, Mayor of Calgary; Brad Parry, President & CEO of Calgary Economic Development and CEO of the Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund; Navin Arora, Board Chair of Calgary Economic Development; Steve McClelland, Vice President of Loyalty & Strategic Partnerships at WestJet; and Katherine Emberly, Senior Vice President & President of Small & Medium and Mid-market Business at TELUS Business Solutions. The event will be hosted by Geraldine Anderson and Megan Zimmerman of Calgary Economic Development, with additional speakers to be announced.
As geopolitical shifts and digital transformation continue to reshape global commerce, Calgary is positioning itself as a city that competes through connection — to new markets, new partners, and new opportunities. Report to the Community 2026 offers founders, investors, and ecosystem builders a closer look at how civic strategy and business ambition are aligning to build a stronger, more connected economy.
Report to the Community 2026 takes place Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 1 to 4pm at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre. Registration is now open.
