Via a recent Request for Proposals, Alberta Innovates is seeking to establish a pre-qualified vendor roster with expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and business process automation to support the organization’s evolving business priorities and operational plans.
These services are intended to enable improved efficiency, decision-making, and service delivery across the organization through secure, value-focused applications of artificial intelligence technologies.
This Request is not tied to a single initiative, according to Alberta Innovates, but rather intended to identify vendors who can support a range of future initiatives as needs are identified through business planning, program delivery, and corporate operations.
Calgary startup Titan Technology says it has submitted a proposal.
The Alberta tech firm, which went public on the Canadian Securities Exchange in January, provides on-demand access to high-performance computing infrastructure.
Titan’s principal business is a Hardware-as-a-Service model whereby the computing power of its specialized GPU workstations are leased to end users via a third-party cloud GPU hosting platform.
The company’s submission to Alberta Innovates highlights Titan’s integrated GPU infrastructure and services platform, including expertise in designing, deploying and operating AI and automation solutions, as well as its experience supporting organizations through discovery, solution design, implementation and lifecycle management for production AI systems, according to chief executive officer Simon Cheng.
“Participating in this RFP aligns strongly with Titan’s strategy to deliver scalable AI infrastructure and applied AI solutions to public‑sector innovation partners in Alberta and across Canada,” said Cheng.
Titan’s proposal also emphasizes alignment with Alberta Innovates’ Microsoft‑centric technology environment, its responsible AI governance expectations, and Canadian supplier requirements, including completion of the majority of work within Canada, Cheng says.
“If selected to the roster, we look forward to working with Alberta Innovates to help accelerate responsible AI adoption, unlock new efficiencies and support data‑driven decision‑making across the organization,” remarked the CEO.
Titan was founded in Calgary in 2020.
