Platform Calgary has appointed Jennifer Lussier as Chief Executive Officer, formalizing her leadership after serving as interim CEO since October 2025.
The announcement, made by the organization’s Board of Directors, marks a continuation of internal leadership at one of Calgary’s most important innovation hubs. Board Chair Dean Prodan said the decision reflects a focus on maintaining momentum in the city’s rapidly growing tech sector.
“Platform Calgary has played an important role shaping the exponential growth of Calgary’s tech community,” said Prodan. “To continue this impressive trajectory, Platform Calgary needs proven leadership that will continue delivering results for Calgary’s innovators.”
Lussier brings more than three decades of experience in Calgary’s business community, alongside a deep history within Platform Calgary itself. She joined the organization in 2019 as a startup advisor and has since held progressively senior roles, including Director, Vice President of Growth, and Chief Operating Officer.
Her tenure has spanned partnerships, revenue generation, and operational leadership, positioning her as a familiar and experienced figure within the local innovation ecosystem.
Beyond Platform Calgary, Lussier is an active community leader, serving on multiple boards including Bethany Seniors, one of Alberta’s largest not-for-profit providers of seniors’ services and affordable housing.
In her new role, Lussier signaled a focus on scaling Platform Calgary’s impact as the pace of technological change accelerates.
“As we enter a time of incredible technological change, we’re doubling down on our commitment to serve the community of innovators and builders,” she said. “By connecting the dots to talent, investment, and resources at scale, we can supercharge the ecosystem that helps Calgary’s brightest minds compete, and win, on a global stage.”
Her appointment comes at a time when Calgary’s tech sector is gaining national and global attention, supported by a growing base of founders, investors, and ecosystem organizations.
Calgary Mayor Jeromy Farkas welcomed the news, noting Platform Calgary’s role in the city’s economic diversification.
“Platform has been a critical part of the momentum of Calgary’s growing tech sector,” said Farkas.
With Lussier now permanently at the helm, Platform Calgary is expected to continue building on that momentum as the city positions itself as a leading innovation hub.
