Thin Air Labs Surpasses $100 Million in Non-Dilutive Funding Secured

September 15, 2026 by Newsdesk Leave a Comment

Calgary’s Thin Air Labs has reached a major milestone, helping innovative companies secure more than $100 million in non-dilutive funding.

The capital was secured through the firm’s Funding Catalyst service across more than 300 funded projects and 385 companies.

Launched five years ago to help de-risk Thin Air Labs’ own portfolio companies, Funding Catalyst has evolved into a national consulting service supporting startups and growing ventures across Canada.

The service helps companies access capital without giving up ownership, including grants, loans, wage subsidies, government contributions and tax credits such as the Scientific Research and Experimental Development program.

“Reaching $100 million is an important milestone, but it’s really a story of impact, of what that funding enables companies to do,” said managing director Dr. Ania Sergeenko.

“It helps founders advance and validate emerging technologies, add talent to their organizations, complete pilots, enter new markets and reach the next stage of growth.”

Funding Catalyst works with companies throughout the funding lifecycle, from building a capital strategy and identifying relevant programs to preparing applications and managing post-award reporting.

Its clients span defence, life sciences, cleantech, energy, agriculture, advanced manufacturing and other emerging industries.

The team works with programs administered by organizations including Alberta Innovates, Emissions Reduction Alberta, PrairiesCan, NRC IRAP, Natural Resources Canada and DIGITAL, among more than 1,000 funding opportunities it tracks.

With the $100-million milestone reached, Thin Air Labs says it plans to continue expanding the service to help more Canadian founders access funding aligned with their stage and growth plans.
