Calgary’s OpenHouse Taps A.I. to Bridge Gap Between Builders, Buyers Like Never Before

October 10, 2024 by Knowlton Thomas Leave a Comment

A technology startup based out of Calgary is offering the latest example of artificial intelligence disrupting the real estate sector.

With millions of new homes needed to address Canada’s housing crisis, developers would benefit from tools to optimize planning and improve efficiency—and “AI holds the key,” according to the founders of local startup OpenHouse.

Recently, Alberta-born OpenHouse.ai launched an app targeting homebuilders with an aim to rethink how developers connect to buyers.

The sales-focused offering enables teams to receive real-time alerts when buyers are ready to talk, armed with intelligence around what the buyer is looking for and why.

“Our new Sales App is about empowering home builders to offer an improved experience for buyers,” stated Will Zhang, chief executive officer of OpenHouse.ai.

“By integrating real-time, AI-driven buyer insights directly into the sales process, we’re helping sales teams focus on what they do best: engaging with buyers and selling quality homes,” he said.

For builders seeking a competitive edge, OpenHouse.ai’s Sales App presents a data-driven approach to customer service as well, Zhang says. Detailed visibility into buyer preferences, needs, and behaviour on the builders’ website can empower more tailored service than traditional experiences may provide.

“It’s about transforming the way builders connect with their buyers, making the entire experience more efficient, personalized, and data-driven,” the CEO said.

By integrating with existing CRM systems, the tool allows professionals to concentrate on driving sales rather than administrative tasks, says Desirae Germsheid, a Sales Manager for Trico Homes.

“OpenHouse.ai’s Sales App … allows us to connect with higher-quality leads faster and with more insight into what the buyer is looking for so we can offer more tailored support right from the start,” commented Germsheid. “It’s also cut down on the administrative work, letting our sales team focus on building relationships and closing deals.”

The app is an addition to OpenHouse’s AI-powered platform, OpenConnect.

Launched in 2022, OpenHouse.ai raised $1.5 million round led by Trico Ventures earlier this year.
