AdvancedAg, an Indigenous, family-owned agricultural biotech company based in southern Alberta, has raised $2 million in seed funding from Raven Indigenous Capital Partners to expand its mission of creating sustainable, data-driven farming solutions.
The investment marks a pivotal moment for AdvancedAg, which specializes in developing affordable, high-performance biological products aimed at improving soil health and reducing the need for heavy chemical inputs. The funding will be used to accelerate research and development, build intellectual property, and broaden market access across North America.
“From day one, our focus has been on research and collaboration with farmers to deliver measurable results,” said Joshua Day Chief, CEO of AdvancedAg. “This investment allows us to push innovation even further—developing reliable, science-backed biological solutions that improve soil health, strengthen crops, and reduce dependence on heavy chemical inputs.”
Founded in Raymond, Alberta, AdvancedAg has built a reputation for helping farmers adopt regenerative practices that lead to healthier plants and long-term profitability. The company’s expansion is well-timed as interest grows in sustainable agricultural methods that mitigate climate impact and enhance resilience in the face of changing weather patterns.
Raven Indigenous Capital Partners, a leading Indigenous-led investment firm focused on social and environmental impact, called the partnership a natural fit.
“At Raven, we invest in ventures that not only drive commercial success but also create lasting, positive change in their industries,” said Josh Alook, Associate at Raven. “AdvancedAg’s leadership in sustainable agriculture and their deep ties to farming innovation and natural solutions made this investment a natural fit.”
As a result of the funding, more farmers across North America will gain access to AdvancedAg’s biological solutions—supporting a shift toward regenerative agriculture that benefits both producers and the planet.
