Calgary will host the national kickoff of the 2025 Startup Canada Tour on April 29th, launching a new three-year partnership between Pizza Hut Canada and Startup Canada aimed at empowering the country’s next generation of entrepreneurs.
Through Pizza Hut’s Equal Slice Program, the company will co-present the tour and invest $300,000 in cash grants, alongside educational resources and coaching for early-stage business owners. The partnership is designed to reduce barriers for Canadian entrepreneurs during uncertain economic times.
As part of the collaboration, the organizations will launch the Startup Canada Equal Slice Pitch Competitions, giving founders the opportunity to secure funding and expert guidance. Additional programming will include custom workshops and enhanced digital tools available through Startup Canada’s Business Owner’s Toolbox, now “Powered by” Pizza Hut’s Equal Slice initiative.
“In times of economic uncertainty, bold action is critical,” said Kayla Isabelle, CEO of Startup Canada. “We are tearing down systemic barriers and forging new pathways for Canadian entrepreneurs.”
This partnership builds on Pizza Hut’s legacy of entrepreneurship. “Our 640 Pizza Hut locations across Canada are owned by local entrepreneurs and families,” said Daniel Meynen, General Manager of Pizza Hut Canada. “Through this partnership, we’re expanding our impact and helping new entrepreneurs succeed.”
The Equal Slice Program is entering its fifth year of removing barriers to employability and entrepreneurship in communities across Canada.
