Calgary’s fintech community will come together this fall for the return of Nexus Night, an evening that blends elevated food and drink with big-picture conversation about building smarter in lean times. Hosted by Digital Commerce Group, Nexus Night Calgary takes place Wednesday, October 1st at Teatro.
This upcoming fireside chat will bring together leaders tackling one of the industry’s most pressing challenges: how to maximize and manage development resources in today’s market. With capital tighter and developer costs rising, fintechs are under pressure to stretch every dollar while still delivering innovation.
The discussion will feature Aman Nabi, Director of Growth at Finnovate.io; Clark Lai, CEO of Motiv; and Ted O’Grady, CTO of Fillip. The panel will be moderated by Paul Twigg, CTO of Digital Commerce Group. Together, they will explore practical strategies Canadian startups can use to navigate current market conditions, from making smart “build vs. buy” decisions and leveraging programs like SR&ED, to structuring hybrid developer teams and adopting lean, testable product development approaches.
For attendees, the evening promises more than just insight. Nexus Night has built a reputation as a sophisticated gathering point for Calgary’s innovation community—pairing elevated food, curated wine, and specialty cocktails with candid conversations about the future of digital commerce.
Registration is invite-only. Seats are limited, making this a must-attend event for entrepreneurs, investors, and tech leaders looking to gain an edge in a challenging market.
