A provincial minister is heading to the United States of America to promote new partnerships and investments for Alberta’s growing tech sector, the government announced this week.
Nate Glubish is in Texas, where the Minister of Technology and Innovation is a featured speaker at the North American Blockchain Summit.
Hosted by the Texas Blockchain Council at the George W. Bush Institute in Dallas, the Summit is an annual conference for the blockchain and digital assets ecosystems that aims to unite policymakers and experts.
At the Summit, Glubish is participating in discussions focused on Alberta’s competitive advantages in the digital assets sector.
While there, he intends to meet with blockchain companies, investors, and industry leaders to attract partnerships and investment, according to a statement from the government.
“Alberta is well-positioned to be the destination of choice for digital finance investors,” Glubish posits.
The provincial minister described the U.S. trip as “a critical opportunity to meet with industry leaders.”
Glubish says he wants to “showcase the significant strides Alberta has made” and make it known “how we’re helping build a world-class digital assets industry through innovation.”
There are almost 50 blockchain, crypto mining, and data centre companies currently operating in Alberta, including Balance, Tetra, and DevvStream.
