eStruxture will officially unveil its CAL-3 data centre on May 22, framing the milestone as more than a ribbon cutting—it’s a signal of Calgary’s growing role in North America’s digital infrastructure race.
Held at Platform Calgary, the event is expected to draw more than 200 decision-makers, government officials, and industry leaders, bringing together the ecosystem behind what’s increasingly being recognized as the Alberta Tech Corridor.
Originally announced in 2024, CAL-3 represents a $750 million investment and is set to become Alberta’s largest data centre. Located in Rocky View County, the facility is designed to deliver 90 megawatts of capacity to support AI, cloud, and enterprise workloads.
Built as a Tier III facility, CAL-3 is engineered for high-density computing, with infrastructure tailored to meet the demands of modern GPU-intensive environments. The site will also offer carrier-neutral connectivity and advanced cooling and power systems.
The scale—and early demand—for the project underscores the accelerating need for AI-ready infrastructure. Phase one has already sold out ahead of launch, reflecting growing interest in Alberta as a destination for high-performance computing.
For eStruxture, the May 22 event is as much about ecosystem building as infrastructure. By convening leaders across industry and government, the company is positioning CAL-3 as foundational to Alberta’s broader economic diversification strategy.
With operations targeted for 2026, CAL-3 is expected to play a central role in Calgary’s emergence as a hub for AI infrastructure. The launch event offers an early look at that future—where compute, capital, and community converge.
