Tagsight recently announced that it is now a member of the Google for Startups Cloud Program.
The startup, founded in Calgary earlier this year, has developed software that reads factory blueprints and turns them into a spreadsheet.
The technology modernizes the laborious process of reading P&IDs and engineering drawings across a wide range of tags and classifications.
“Every tag is classified to the standard the drawing already uses, whether that is ISA 5.1, KKS, IEC 81346, or a house convention, and an engineer confirms each read before anything exports,” the company claims. “It reads scanned sheets and CAD exports alike, compares revisions so a change review shows only what moved, and exports to Excel, TIA Portal, Rockwell L5X, DEXPI, and more.”
The Google for Startups Cloud Program, meanwhile, provides emerging companies with access to technical support, mentors, industry experts, and technologies like Google Cloud and Firebase.
The manœuvre from Tagsight builds on a July announcement that the young firm joined the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program.
Since 2022, the Microsoft program equips startups with tools to create and market innovative AI solutions.
“We built Tagsight because the instrument index, I/O list, and tag register that a project runs on still get rebuilt from a drawing set by hand, on every revision,” says founder Muaawia Jannat, who studied computational applied mathematics at the University of Calgary before trying entrepreneurship.
Project pricing, which includes all related documents and 12 months of active access to Tagsight Intelligence, starts at $330.
Project data is encrypted, deletable, and not used for AI training, according to Jannat, who says Tagsight complies with privacy regulations such as PIPEDA, GDPR, and CCPA.
