NiaHealth this week announced a “major milestone” as the Edmonton-born startup maintains—or even increases—its momentum.
“Momentum is real, and it’s accelerating,” says Sameer Dhar, cofounder and chief executive officer of the company.
NiaHealth secured over $2M in pre-seed capital in 2024 and raised another $6 million in seed funding in June to accelerate the growth of its Longevity-as-a-Service platform.
Since emerging from stealth earlier this year, the startup has attracted over 12,000 Canadians to its waitlist, conducted more than 140,000 biomarker tests, and grown its user base by 30% month-over-month.
“We’ve gone from stealth to scale in just a few months—but we’ve stayed grounded in our mission,” said Dhar.
The Canadian firm believes it has identified a marketable gap in the healthcare space.
Personal health data from wearables is more abundant than ever, yet improved outcomes remain elusive; as Canada’s healthcare system reaches new levels of strain, life expectancy within the country has stalled while chronic illness is rising, and nearly 6.5 million Canadians sit without access to a primary care provider.
NiaHealth aims to close this gap with clinical-grade healthspan testing, actionable insights, and direct support from licensed clinicians.
To support NiaHealth’s mission, the Alberta company has hired Candy Lee as its first Chief Marketing Officer.
Lee hails from HelloFresh, with stints at Homebase, ecobee, and Budweiser.
But for Lee, passion for NiaHealth’s product is as personal as it is professional.
“A decade ago, I hit a turning point in my own health,” explains Lee. “Through that journey, I learned that with the right clinical guidance and proactive biomarker testing, so much of that suffering could have been avoided.”
Beyond the hiring of its first CMO, NiaHealth announced a “significant product expansion” by launching its Continuous Glucose Monitoring product out of beta, as well as tripling the size of its clinician team and expanding its core testing panel to over 150 biomarkers.
NiaHealth’s platform now features advanced data integrations with gut microbiome test insights, Vo2Max, DEXA Body Scans, CGMs and fitness wearables like Oura Ring, Fitbit, and Garmin. By combining long-range biomarkers with real-time health data, members can gain a full-circle view of their health before symptoms begin, says Dhar.
“This next chapter isn’t just about scale—it’s about impact for Canadians,” said Dhar. “We’re proving that proactive health can be evidence-based, clinician-guided, and built for real life. That’s the future we’re working toward, and we’re just getting started.”
Plans start at $300 per year.
