Calgary’s Blackline Safety has landed a major international win with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), one of the world’s largest energy producers, placing its first purchase order under a new multi-year agreement for up to 28,000 Blackline devices and services. The deal was secured through Blackline’s regional channel partner, Al Masaood.
The initial order includes roughly 1,000 G6 wearable single-gas detectors with four years of service and 1,200 Blackline Location Beacons to enhance signal accuracy within ADNOC facilities. The deployment will support safety across ADNOC’s operations, which produce more than 4 million barrels of oil daily alongside significant natural gas volumes.
“This first order under the new agreement with ADNOC is an important milestone in our multi-year growth strategy in the Middle East,” said Andrea Lamond, Vice President, Growth Operations and Interim VP of International Sales at Blackline Safety. “Through our partnership with ADNOC and Al Masaood, we are investing in the region and delivering advanced connected worker technology that helps protect workers while improving operational efficiency.”
The G6 detectors represent the next generation in gas monitoring, providing connectivity, real-time location data, and best-in-class safety features. When paired with Blackline Location Beacons, responders can locate workers quickly, even in indoor or GPS-limited environments.
The ADNOC agreement caps off a string of milestones for Blackline. Earlier this year, the company was named one of Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies, and in June it received the City of Calgary’s Award for Social Impact – Business, recognizing both its global leadership and local contributions. The company also marked its 20th anniversary.
At the same time, Blackline has expanded its in-house quality assurance program in Calgary to ensure ruggedness and reliability across its devices, while its adoption in the fire and hazmat sectors surged by 175% over the past year. With products like the EXO 8 area monitor gaining industry recognition, Blackline continues to extend its reach across high-risk industries worldwide.
For Calgary’s tech sector, the ADNOC deal signals both a validation of Blackline’s connected safety ecosystem and a reminder that Calgary-built innovation is being deployed at scale on the global stage.
