Promise Robotics this week announced that it has officially achieved full-scale production levels at its flagship robotic homebuilding facility in Calgary.
The Canadian startup’s cloud-based, AI-powered Factory-as-a-Service platform is designed to give builders “push-button” home manufacturing for faster build times, greater efficiency, and reduced costs.
Promise Robotics’ Calgary facility features over 60,000 square feet of deployment space dedicated to boosting Alberta’s housing supply.
“We are helping to unlock the housing supply the province urgently needs,” says Ramtin Attar, a cofounder of Promise Robotics who serves the upstart as chief executive officer.
Attar believes Canada’s housing problems demand “real, industrial-scale solutions that empower builders to do more with less.”
Attar says that the facility, located on Stonehill Drive, can manage the production of prefabricated homes within “a few weeks.”
“Our facility will help simplify the complexity of automation by enabling builders across Canada and the US,” the entrepreneur stated.
Joseph Schow, who functions as Minister of Jobs, Economy, Trade, and Immigration for Alberta, believes that the innovation from Promise Robotics represents “an important part of the solution to building more homes faster.”
“Alberta is a place of innovation, where we solve problems and make life better for the people who call our province home,” Schow remarked. “I look forward to seeing our housing market grow with the help from their new facility.”
Rick Christiaanse, chief executive officer of Invest Alberta, agrees, stating that “Promise Robotics’ innovative technology is a great example of how AI and tech can span across sectors and unlock greater benefits.”
The factory will support both large developers and small to mid-sized builders, according to a statement from Promise Robotics, creating a “template for how cities across North America can address similar housing challenges using next-generation technology.”
