Blackline Safety announced this week that it plans to expand internationally with the opening of multiple new offices overseas.
Building on already-established hubs in the U.K. and France, the Calgary-based provider of connected safety technology for rugged work environments unveiled plans to open offices in Germany and the United Arab Emirates.
“We’re excited to bring Blackline’s global operations even closer to our customers across Europe and the Middle East,” remarked Cody Slater, who founded the company in 2004 and today serves as chief executive officer.
“Opening regional offices in Cologne and Abu Dhabi strengthens our local service and support capabilities and positions us to better partner with global enterprise customers,” he commented.
The expansion is strategically timed, coinciding with Blackline Safety’s 10th consecutive year exhibiting at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference as well as the company’s participation in A+A 2025 in Düsseldorf this month.
Blackline’s Abu Dhabi facility also builds on the firm’s growing presence in the Middle East, following a multi-year purchase agreement with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.
Armed with cellular and satellite connectivity, Blackline provides a lifeline to tens of thousands of people, having reported over 300 billion data-points and initiated over eight million emergency alerts for customers across more than 70 countries.
Fast Company recently highlighted Blackline as one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for its EXO 8 area monitor. The EXO 8 was also named a 2025 Firehouse Innovation Award winner in October.
Blackline Safety’s EXO 8 “sets a new standard as the only area monitor that detects eight different gases and gamma radiation in a single, rugged, portable device,” according to Firehouse.
In addition, Blackline was last month ranked by The Globe & Mail as one of Canada’s top-growing companies.
