Paradigm Inputs Wins Startup of the Year Ahead of Calgary’s Launch Party

November 3, 2026 by Newsdesk Leave a Comment

Paradigm Inputs led the winners at Platform Calgary’s 2026 Top 10 pitch night, taking home both Startup of the Year and the Ecosystem Award ahead of Thursday’s Launch Party.

Presented by Alberta Innovates, the evening brought together ten early-stage startups to pitch their businesses, answer audience questions and connect with Calgary’s technology community.

Paradigm Inputs received the Startup of the Year award presented by Amii and the Ecosystem Award presented by the University of Alberta.

The company combines agricultural distribution with software to help independent brokers supply crop inputs to Canadian farmers. Its platform supports invoicing, payments, inventory and customer management, while its distribution model consolidates orders to simplify the route from manufacturers to farms.

Agrivanna earned the Alex Raczenko Pitch Award, presented by Cumberland Private Wealth Canada. The startup’s livestock-management software helps ranchers capture spoken notes about animals, treatments and herd movements, including when cellular service is unavailable. Its tools also support pasture mapping and grazing plans.

Waypoint Budget received the Alumni Award, presented by Blackline Safety. Founded by Calgary software developers Florencia Chomski and Ahmad Jamal, the Canadian personal finance app grew out of the founders’ efforts to better understand their own spending and financial goals. It offers budgeting, goal tracking and transaction-management tools.

Verano.ai took home the Sponsor’s Choice Award, presented by Global Public Affairs. The company uses AI to help organizations connect regulatory changes with compliance action, monitoring updates, identifying obligations and mapping requirements against internal policies and controls.

The four award-winning companies joined Black Owl Systems, Candidly AI, Fledge Health, Leeg, Made It Legal and Splice N Connect in this year’s Top 10 cohort.

The community will have another opportunity to meet all ten companies at Launch Party, presented by Float, on Thursday, November 5 at the Platform Innovation Centre during Calgary Innovation Week.
